ca·tas·tro·pre·NEUR
An entrepreneur who sees opportunity where other people see catastrophe. In the words of the World #1 Catastropreneur himself: “Where other people see catastrophe, I see opportunity. I see catastrotunity.” From the outside, the same person looks like an entrepreneur whose ventures turn into catastrophes; which reading is right depends on whether you are Mike.

Where other people see catastrophe, I see opportunity. I see catastrotunity.
Etymologycatastrophe + entrepreneur. The opening of catastrophe replaces entre-, leaving -preneur to carry the business ambition and catastro- to announce the result.
NoteFound in the description of Mike Moe Money: This Is Not A Scam at Playhouse East, where the character is billed as the “World #1 Catastropreneur”. This listing documents a use of the word, not a claim about who first coined it. Corrected on the word's behalf. The first version of this entry defined a catastropreneur as someone whose ventures turn into disasters, and the show wrote back: Mike doesn't see it that way. A catastropreneur doesn't cause catastrophes; he spots them, and sees the opportunity inside each one. The reply allowed that the outside description may be more accurate, then added: “I couldn't possibly comment!” Both readings are kept, because the gap between them is the joke: the same career, told by the man and by his creditors. The reply came with two more words from the same workshop. Catastrotunity (catastrophe + opportunity) is the thing a catastropreneur sees; Catastronomics is the discipline, which the show teaches: tickets on sale.
